Aria Sky Suite Penthouse

I am a regular at the Aria and have enjoyed their Sky Suite offerings for the past few years. This time I got upgraded to a Sky Suite penthouse. Their 1 bed Sky Suite is a great room and is the Aria’s premier offering above their normal rooms and tower suites. So naturally was interested to see how the penthouse would better it.

What is the room like?

The penthouses are located on the higher floors so the views are pretty good. You get an additional 500 sq ft over the standard suites giving you 1500 sq ft of views over the strip or the Red Rock mountains if your facing the rear of the property.

You get a wet bar, dining for 6, separate living room. 2 bathrooms with the master having large walk in shower with steam facility – which is a great way to help ease a hangover. His and hers sinks . Big bubble bath which can fit 3 at a push.

The room automation is good with a tablet working the lights, curtains, music etc. 52″ LCD in the living room, 42″ LCD in the bedroom and a couple of 20″ in the bathroom.

Turn down service at night means you are always returning to your room with the shades drawn and bed remade. Decent chocolates too.

I do like the decor in the Aria. A modern but sophisticated style that is easy to get along with for a few days. After you have stayed in Sky Suites it’s very hard to go back to the suites at the Wynn or Bellagio.

What perks do you get?

Check in is separate from the rest of the guests – you have your own Sky Suite drop off and private checkin with concierge desk. This is a nice touch as its not just a separate line at the front desk like some hotels, you got your own area with security making sure regular guests don’t disturb you. If you are flying into LAS then Aria will send a limo for you. Depending what you spend when you are there you can use their limos to drop off at other hotels too when you leave. See my 90 second limo transfer to the Cosmopolitan here.

You get queue jump on the buffet line and entrance to Jewel nightclub. Best bit is the Sky Suite pool which is just for guests staying in the suites. You get your own pool with and people putting your towels down for you and fetching drinks etc.

A lot more relaxed then the main pools and a decent choice of cabanas too of there are a few of you. Although for a group of guys you wanting to be hitting the Boulevard pool at the Cosmo next door.

Anyone for golf? Sky Suite guests get preferred tee times at Shadow Creek. You don’t want to playing when it hits 40c!

Is it worth it over the normal Sky Suite?

If there are just two of you then probably not. If you are meeting friends in Vegas and want the extra space for drinks or to use for entertainment after a night out then you could probably justify the extra few hundred dollars for the penthouse. When I stayed it was about $1200/night.
